DMV Prep Privacy Policy

The short version. Your answers and study progress stay on your device. No account is required. The free version uses Google AdMob, and the app sends an Apple Ads attribution token and a random app identifier to our server to measure advertising results. Apple handles purchases.

About this policy

This policy covers DMV Practice Test Permit 2026, also displayed as DMV Prep, the iOS app published by OIZ Apps (Oleksiy Izmestyev), bundle ID company.oiz.US-dmv-test-main. Effective 7 October 2026. For privacy questions or requests, contact leksme.w@gmail.com.

Your study data

The app saves your chosen state, quiz answers, scores, exam history, question mastery, practice activity, preferences, and purchase-access status in local storage on your device. Study records are not uploaded to us or sent to Google through our app code. The app does not provide its own iCloud study sync. Device backups you enable through Apple may include local app data.

You do not need to give us your name, email, phone number, driver’s license, or location to practice. The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or precise location. This build does not include Firebase Analytics.

Advertising and privacy choices

The free version can show interstitial ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK), including ads associated with accessing a hint. Premium access removes in-app ads. We use Google’s User Messaging Platform to update consent information and display privacy messages when required. Ads are requested only when that platform reports that requests are allowed.

Google’s SDK may process your IP address (including approximate location), device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, app interactions, and diagnostic and performance information. Google uses this information for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement. The data and ad personalization depend on your privacy choices, device permissions, and Google’s configuration. Your quiz answers and study history are not supplied as ad targeting data by our app.

You can change available advertising choices through Privacy Choices on the app’s main screen when Google requires that option. Availability depends on your region and the privacy message configuration. You can also manage tracking permissions in iOS Settings. This build does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all ad-related data processing.

See Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses data from partner apps, and Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosures.

Apple Ads attribution and the app identifier

In release builds, the app obtains an attribution token from Apple’s AdServices framework and sends it, together with a randomly generated appAccountToken, to our HTTPS endpoint at oiz.company/api/apple/attribution/ for this app. We use these to measure whether an installation came from Apple Ads and to connect advertising attribution with purchases associated with that identifier. This request does not include quiz answers, study progress, your name, email, or Apple Account credentials.

The random identifier is stored in the device’s Keychain without iCloud synchronization and is also supplied to Apple when starting an in-app purchase, when available. It is not an account you create and does not contain your identity. Keychain storage can survive deleting and reinstalling the app. The attribution request also exposes ordinary connection information, such as the IP address, to the receiving server. The app does not save or log the Apple attribution token locally.

Apple may return campaign attribution information for advertising measurement. See Apple’s AdServices documentation and Apple’s Privacy Policy. There is currently no in-app switch for this attribution request.

Purchases

Subscriptions and other premium purchases use Apple’s StoreKit. Apple processes payment and tells the app about purchase status so it can provide access. We do not receive your card details, billing address, or Apple Account password. Apple may provide transaction information containing the random app account token described above. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How information is used and shared

Local study data is used to run quizzes and show progress. Attribution and transaction information is used to measure advertising results and provide purchased access. Advertising information is processed by Google and its advertising partners under their policies and your available choices. Apple processes distribution, purchase, backup, and attribution information under its policy. Our server and hosting infrastructure receive attribution requests. If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message.

We do not sell your study records. Ad services may process identifiers for personalized advertising where allowed; depending on local law, that processing may be considered sharing for targeted advertising. Use the available privacy choices to limit it. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and prevent fraud.

Information processed by service providers may be handled outside your country, including in the United States. Their applicable privacy terms describe their international transfer safeguards.

Retention, deletion, and security

Local study data stays on your device until removed; detailed answers are kept for up to the 100 most recent stored attempts. Deleting the app removes its local study storage, but may leave the Keychain identifier, Apple backups, and information already received by our server or providers. Remove your device backups separately using Apple’s settings.

Attribution and support information is retained as needed for advertising measurement, support, security, and applicable legal obligations. Provider-held advertising and purchase data follows Google’s and Apple’s retention policies. To request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold, email us with the app name and enough context to locate it. We may need additional information because there is no user account. Do not send card details or passwords.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, request a portable copy, withdraw consent, opt out of targeted advertising, or complain to your local data protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Removing the app does not itself submit a server-side deletion request.

We use HTTPS for attribution requests. Local storage is protected by iOS device security and the app identifier is stored in the Keychain. No storage or transmission method guarantees complete security.

Children

This app is intended for people preparing for driving knowledge tests and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and arrange deletion where applicable.
